Hello my beautiful people!! Guess what? I'm turning 4-0 this weekend. That's right, forty...
It's upsetting at times, but then you think about the alternative and you realize that not everybody makes it to 40. Let's show some appreciation for health and happiness.

So, I'm sorry about the mess in my bedroom. Just wanted to show you where I am, fitness-wise. I like what I see.

Looking for the right pair of running shoes

Hey, my beautiful people!

I still want to give running a try, but I need to be smart about shoes. My feet tend to ache because of my shoe choices.

You see, I’ve got multiple problems:

I have flat feet.
My feet are wide.
I hate bulky/heavy shoes, but I need support because I overpronate since I’m flat-footed.
I wear a size 11.5 in women’s shoes.

The search is on…

If you’re on the same boat, please do send me advice, like, what are you currently running in?

Yesterday, I took my daughters to the tennis court. We are fortunate to live in a residence with a large pool and 2 tennis courts. That’s Southern Californian living for you!

We’re not tennis experts, well if you don’t count watching the French Open and Wimbledon, so I was just teaching them how to serve. And I ran everywhere to pick up the tennis balls thrown around the court. I had so much fun running. It was a short distance every time, but I gave it my all and it felt great. And then last night I had a dream that I was going to run. I had my outfit, my shoes, everything. I was ready to go conquer the asphalt. Then I woke up.

But it got me thinking.

Maybe I should try running. At the gym, years ago, I’d always run on the treadmill. I’d do around 3 miles (5km). That was the fastest way to trim those thighs of mine.

But if I’m going to try to run for real (not on a treadmill), I’m going to research it. I’ll need great shoes (bunion lady, here! Sorry for the TMI) with great support (bad knees here…damn, I sound like an old person!).

I’ll keep you posted.

Take good care of your bodies.

The little stepper that could

Hey, my beautiful people. How’s it going?

Just wanted to review this little machine I bought from Target months ago.

As I’ve said many times before, I am pear-shaped: thin on top, thick on the bottom. My thighs really live a life of their own – they’re there for each other, lol! If the rest of my body shrinks, they just ignore it. So I’m now targeting them, see if they can ignore that!

Anyway, I’ve been using this stepper since April, along with my cardio DVDs. So far I’ve reduced my thighs by half a centimeter – a little bit less than a quarter of an inch. Not much, but I’ll take it.

So it runs great.  It gets a little wobbly overtime, but I retighten it and it’s ok again. I feel like, being 5’11’’, it feels just a tad too short for me but I use it with no problem. If you’re taller than me, then you may want to find a stepper with a longer handle.

The great thing is the step/calorie counter. In 30 minutes, depending on how hard I go at it, I can burn between 250 and 310 calories. You can also adjust the resistance. And because it’s very easy to move around, I sometimes place it in front of the TV to work out while watching a show. I hide it in my closet when not in use. It’s great.

But the best thing about it was its price: less than $65!!!

Hello, my beautiful people! Long time no see, huh?

I just wanted to say how touched I am by the growing interest in my little blog on my Insanity journey. I stopped blogging here 8 months ago, but it keeps getting viewed by so many people all over the world, all day and all night :-) I have also received messages. The best way to contact me is probably to leave a comment on this blog because it will get to my usual email address' inbox.

So where am I in my fitness journey, you're asking?

So 8 months ago, yes I did hit my goal but happened! I did put a bit of weight back on but I'm fighting back. If there's enough interest, perhaps I'll start writing this blog again :-)

Take care, everybody.

Reached my goal!

Hello everyone,

I feel that it's no longer necessary to write this blog as I have reached my weight and fitness goals. I will leave it up for people interested in my Insanity journey, but I probably won't write much anymore.
I was hoping this would become an interesting interactive place for me to go and find support. It didn't happen that way and that's ok :-) I was able to keep going and to reach the fitness level I wanted, and that feels great.

I wish you all well and remember to move a little.

Day 281: Eating too much junk...

Arrrgh. When it's not one thing, it's the other. So I did lose some weight and I do work out more than 2 hours a week. Yet, my brand new Levi's jeans are feeling a bit tighter. Could it be that the dryer did it?   Uh. Not. I've been eating ice cream and chocolate with a lot of confidence over the past 2 weeks (I'm working out, so I can eat what I want, right?) and it's showing...

Anyway, my beautiful people, I hope you're all well.

I'm glad I've noticed what I was doing before it got worse. I'm just going to stop. No ice cream even when the heat wave comes back. Chocolate, however, is a different story. I'll go buy some dark chocolate and indulge from time to time.

I think I've finally made up my mind about my new fitness challenge. I think I'll go with Turbo Fire

Now that I've tried Turbo Jam, I feel like the instructor knows what women in general expect from a workout (slimmer thighs, tummy, etc), whereas Shaun T's Focus T 25 just reminds me a bit too much of Insanity although I do love his personality.

I plan on buying it next month.

Listen to this:

Very cool video and I love the music. You can totally do some squats to it, and not even realize you're working out.

Have fun,
